Roundtable 2 - Supporting the needs of communities in the future
In a short time one third of the county’s population will be over 65. How should the planning system respond to this and other demographic changes to support the changing needs of communities over the next 30 years ?

In our second roundtable we wanted to gain a realistic view regarding the impact of demographic change and understand how we can future-proof guidance.
11 Local Authority staff, 1 Councillor and 2 developers attended the event.
The discussion was initiated by two key speakers; Yolande Barnes, until recently Head of Research at Savills and Patrick Devlin a partner at Pollard Thomas Edwards architects and an expert on housing the ageing population.
