About The Event

How to promote and foster design that responds successfully to its natural and built environment context, particularly when that context is sensitive and/or historic.

This event will explore how good design can be nurtured within a sensitive context, be it a historic, rural, or a peri-urban place. Sensitive and responsive design is rooted in an appreciation of the both the established and historic context and environment, so we will seek to build an understanding of what sort of studies, analysis and research should underpin design, and how this process is best captured in the development management process. This will include a workshop exercise reviewing a set of submitted
