Does the scheme enhance biodiversity and include SuDS features?

Is green and blue infrastructure integrated into the layout and streetscape?

Are trees and planting used to improve microclimate and visual quality?

1. Green and Blue Infrastructure

  • Does the layout include continuous green corridors connecting key spaces?

  • Are SuDS features (e.g., swales, rain gardens) incorporated into streetscape design?

  • Is at least X% of the site area allocated to permeable surfaces or green infrastructure?

2. Biodiversity and SuDS

  • Does the planting palette include a minimum of X% native species?

  • Are biodiversity net gain targets met or exceeded (e.g., +10%)?

  • Are SuDS features designed to manage runoff for a 1-in-100-year storm event plus climate change allowance?

3. Trees and Planting for Microclimate and Visual Quality

  • Is the tree canopy cover at least X% of public realm area?

  • Are species selected to provide seasonal shade and reduce heat island effect?

  • Is planting arranged to frame key views and enhance streetscape character?
